How to Propose at the Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago is the perfect downtown location for a romantic proposal.
Founded in 1866, this museum provides a stunning backdrop and is near to Chicago's most popular attractions. It should be at the top of your list for an unforgettable proposal!

The Art Institute of Chicago is located at 111 S Michigan Ave. You can easily get GPS directions on your phone by typing in “Art Institute Of Chicago” which will lead you directly to the building.
Nearby parking options are available at the Millennium Garages or the Grant Park South Garage.
Parking can be difficult in this area of downtown Chicago during busy hours, so I recommend booking a parking spot ahead of time with the SpotHero app.

The Art Institute of Chicago has beautiful architecture everywhere, but here are some of the best spots for your proposal.
The Grand Staircase: For a dramatic background you can propose at the Grand Staircase. It provides a beautiful setting that looks incredible in photos.
The South Gardens: The South Gardens are beautiful when the flowers are in bloom. They are also home to the famous Taft Fountain which is the perfect backdrop for a proposal.
Chagall’s America Windows: A vibrant stained glass window inside the museum that offers a unique backdrop for those looking for a more artistic proposal.
